So 2018 was a big year for me.
I made it through my FIRST FULL YEAR of being a mama!
2019 came so fast and I am truly excited to see what God has in store for my family and I in this new year, but looking back at all of the beautiful moments and memories we made in 2018, all I can say is that I am so grateful.
So because 2018 was an awesome year for me, I want to share some highlight moments with you!
In 2018 I learned my own strength-not physical strength but the kind of strength that allows you to persevere despite the difficult circumstances.
-I survived 2 full semesters of college with an infant
-I mastered explosion diapers!
(You know the ones where not even 10 wipes can clean. The ones you where you just have to plop their little behinds in a bathtub to clean up the mess!)
-I survived a fussy, teething baby with a fever in another country!
-I got through Lucas’ period of SEVERE separation anxiety.
-To end the year, our little family moved into our first owned home, a week before Christmas! This was our biggest blessing of the year but man was it stressful getting the house all tidied up before Christmas-not to mention the fact that I had finals at school the same week that we moved!–Glad that’s over with 😅
In 2018 my family and I created beautiful memories.
-I enjoyed my FIRST mother’s day with my mama, hubby and my baby at a worship concert!
-We took our little guy to the park for the FIRST time and he LOVED it!
-We went apple picking with Lucas for the FIRST time.
I had SO many PROUD MAMA MOMENTS that made my heart so full in 2018, here are a few:
-I accomplished my goal of breastfeeding my son until he turned one year old.
-My little guy learned how to say mama, dada, Bella (our pup), “mum” (short for yummy) and “nana” for banana.
-I took him to the library for the first time and he interacted with all the kids there.
-Our little guy went for his first haircut and behaved like an angel.
-Right before Christmas, our little baby took his FIRST steps in our new home
These are memories and lessons, along with so many more that will last a lifetime!
Needless to say, I am ready for 2019.
I am in anticipation of all of the new lessons God will be teaching me about motherhood in this new year. As a mother, we are constantly learning. Learning about ourselves, learning about our children, learning how to balance a home and SO MUCH MORE! Motherhood is an everlasting cycle of growth.
Motherhood is challenging.
Motherhood is draining.
But motherhood is also beautiful.
Let us embrace this new year with open hearts and open minds, prepared to take on challenges and understanding that nothing is impossible with God on our side!
Happy New Year Powerful Mama!
