Our New ‘Happy Place’

So if you follow me on Instagram you probably saw that last month my husband and I bought our first home! Tomorrow actually makes ONE whole month of living in our new “HAPPY PLACE” as I like to call it.

You know when you feel so comfortable, content, safe, and at peace in a space that you just never want to leave? That’s how I feel! I mean I have everything I need here, why do I have to go outside?! Haha. Just kidding. But I do LOVE our new home. It’s the perfect fit for our little family, that’s why I call it our happy place.

This was a tremendous accomplishment for us since we are considered to be “so young.”

I guess I had always dreamed of having my own home with a beautiful family in it but I never thought that my dream would become a reality so soon. God’s favor and grace has truly been over our lives and I am so grateful for it. This experience has reaffirmed my strong belief that NOTHING is impossible for God. It has taught me that age is just a number and when God wants to bless you He will and then He’ll use you as an example to encourage others to believe in His promises of life in abundance.

It hadn’t hit me that we are real homeowners until recently. I was driving up to my driveway and into my garage and BOOM, it hit me! This is MINE! All mine! I get to raise my son and future babies in this beautiful home. We get to create beautiful memories in this home. This is our happy place. What a blessing!

Owning a home is a wonderful experience but so far I’ve learned that there are so many responsibilities!

Not unmanageable responsibilities but if you’re coming from apartment living like us, where you always went to the landlord if you had any troubles or concerns; when something breaks or doesn’t work in YOUR house guess who has to figure it out? YOU! Thankfully my parents raised me to be pretty handy, and when in doubt, my husband is a YouTube fanatic so he’ll get on YouTube faster than I have the chance to brainstorm ways to fix something. Good teamwork, right? Haha.

Having my own home has inspired me in so many ways!

I’ve become a little obsessed with home decor and thanks to my hubby who got me this awesome gift, I can decorate like a pro! I LOVE LOVE Joanna Gaines, she and her husband used to do the show Fixer Upper on TLC remember? This is her book Home Body which you can find on Amazon for $24. It’s really easy to read, fun to learn from and helpful if you’re really into home design.

I’ve also become a PLANT MOM! I’ve always liked flowers and things like that but I never thought about growing some of my own and tending to indoor plants until now! I currently have three plants and I plan on growing my own garden when the weather gets warmer!

Anyways, I just wanted to share how exciting this homeowning experience has been thus far.

Lucas is LOVING all of the space he has.

Bella is content will all the little nooks she can snuggle in.

And my husband and I are just grateful!

As we continue to settle in, are there any homeowner tips you would like to share?
All advice is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
