Do you know that from the time our little ones are born we only have about 18 summers with them before they get all “adulty” and want to do their own thing for the summer? Ugh! why does time have to go by so fast?!
You know what I realized makes a good childhood? The happy memories one has when they think back to when they were children. I think that’s what makes people say whether or not their childhood was a good one or a bad one.
With that being said, I want to make sure that my family makes beautiful memories within these 18 years we’ll have together before my son is an adult!
School is out for me and the weather is getting warm so you know what that means? This little family will be out and about exploring the world our wonderful God created!
Since we recently moved to Connecticut we are definitely taking advantage of the warm weather and exploring as much as we can of this beautiful state.
Lucas is at a great age for exploring too. He’s a super active and very inquisitive one and a half-year-old! When we’re inside he wants to be outside and when we’re outside he’s like a little firecracker exploring everything in sight. It’s really a beautiful thing to watch him explore and learn.
This summer I plan on keeping him as active as possible!
Here’s a list of things we plan on doing this summer with our super energetic toddler:
- Check out Connecticut beaches (Make sand castles and collect seashells of course!)
- Try nearby ice cream shops
- Have a picnic at a park
- Go to a petting zoo
- Explore a children’s museum
- Watch an outdoor movie
- Go to an aquarium
- See fireworks
- Go on a nature walk
- Head to a nearby library
- Go berry picking
- Venture to all nearby playgrounds
- Go to a water park
- Visit Connecticut farms
It seems like a lot BUT summer days are long and the memories that will be created will last a lifetime!
We also came up with a list of fun things we can do at home because home can be just as much fun as going out!
FUN AT HOME:
- Make fruit popsicles
- Run through sprinklers
- Catch fireflies
- Make finger paint art
- Swim in a kiddie pool
- Draw on the pavement with chalk
- Make our own pizza
- Take Bella (our pup) for a walk
- Fly a kite
- Blow bubbles
- Dance in the rain
- Plant flowers
- Make lemonade
- Roast marshmallows over a fire
- Pick dandelions
- Sleep under the stars
I’m so excited for what this summer holds for us! Are you doing any fun summer activities with your family? Share below!
